San Diego Massage Therapy - About Me
My name is Chelsea Cartlidge. I was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, where I spent 18 cold, gray winters. After enduring the gloom, (ok so there ARE gorgeous mountains, trees, and beautiful summers, but that's beside the point,) I moved to San Diego to go to the University of San Diego. I graduated August, 2005 with a degree in Spanish, minor in Psychology. Growing up, I wanted to be a veterinarian, a lawyer, a famous writer, a singer/ guitarist/pianist/songwriter, a clothes designer, massage therapist, nutritional counselor, physical trainer, psychologist, and an architect. After studying the French language for 9 years, I naturally pursued a major in Spanish. Graduation came and with all my possible choices I was overwhelmed. I thought, "well, if I'm going to pursue massage therapy and nutrition, now is the time." I started classes at the School of Healing Arts and fell in love with the idea of Holistic Health. Now I am a Massage Technician, taking classes such as Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, CPR, First Aid, Aromatherapy, Pregnancy Massage, Pathology, Comparative Nutrition, Body Reading, and more. Next semester I plan on expanding my knowledge about Eastern approaches to healing by taking a Zen-Touch series, based on Shiatsu and pressure points. I feel extremely blessed to be pursuing something that I love and that I know will greatly benefit others. Eventually I want to study horse therapy/massage, and possibly canine therapy. I am also selling Mary Kay on the side, designing clothes, going on volunteer house-building trips in Mexico, attending the Rock church, working at Starbucks once a week, loving Jesus, my boyfriend, my family, and just...life :) That's it for now.
